Peggy Terms of Use
Effective Date: May 17, 2026 Last Updated: May 17, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Peggy mobile application, any associated websites, and any related services (collectively, "Peggy" or the "Service"), operated by Brooklyn Social House LLC ("Brooklyn Social House," "we," "us," or "our").
By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using Peggy, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use Peggy.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least eighteen (18) years old to create an account or use Peggy. By using the Service, you represent that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under the laws of your jurisdiction.
You may not use Peggy if you are barred from doing so under applicable law or if your access has been previously terminated by us.
2. Description of the Service
Peggy is a personal finance application built for couples. It allows you to:
- Connect financial accounts via a third-party network (Plaid Inc.) to retrieve and categorize your transactions
- View your spending, savings, budget, cash flow, and recurring subscriptions
- Pair with one other person — your "Partner" — and share visibility into each other's transactions, spending totals, and budgets (the "Couples" feature)
- Optionally limit what your Partner sees via the "Hide individual transactions" toggle
- Optionally join "Friends Circles" to compare aggregated weekly savings with friends (described in Section 8)
Peggy is provided for informational and personal use only. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions.
3. Account Registration
3.1 Sign-in method
Peggy uses Sign in with Apple as its sole authentication method. We do not store or accept passwords. You agree to comply with Apple's terms governing Sign in with Apple.
3.2 Accuracy of information
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account information current. You are responsible for safeguarding access to your device and Apple ID. You are responsible for all activity that occurs through your account.
3.3 One account per person
You may not create or use more than one Peggy account at the same time without our written consent. You may not impersonate another person, misrepresent your identity, or use Peggy on behalf of someone else without their authorization.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
4.1 Subscription-based access
Peggy is a paid Service. Access requires an active subscription purchased through the Apple App Store. Current plans:
- Weekly — $3.99 per week
- Yearly — $59.99 per year (includes a 7-day free trial for new subscribers)
Prices are listed in U.S. dollars and may vary by region. The current prices and any promotional offers are displayed in the Service at the time of purchase.
4.2 One subscription, two users (Couples)
A single Peggy subscription covers both Partners in a Couple. The user who purchases the subscription (the "Paying User") may invite one other user (the "Inheriting User") to join their Couple, and the Inheriting User gains full access to the Service at no additional cost while the Paying User's subscription remains active.
- If the Paying User cancels or their subscription lapses, both users lose paid access at the end of the current billing period.
- If the Inheriting User leaves the Couple, they lose paid access immediately. The Paying User's subscription remains active for their own continued use.
- If the Paying User leaves the Couple, the Inheriting User loses paid access immediately. The Inheriting User may purchase their own subscription to continue.
Subscriptions cannot be split, transferred between Apple IDs, or otherwise reassigned outside the Couple model described here.
4.3 Auto-renewal
All subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Renewal is processed by Apple using your Apple ID payment method.
4.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID subscription settings:
iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Peggy → Cancel Subscription
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to paid features until that date. We do not separately process cancellations — Apple manages all subscription lifecycle events.
4.5 Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple, and refund requests must be submitted to Apple, not to us. We have no ability to issue refunds directly. Apple's refund policy is available at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Where applicable law grants you a right of withdrawal, you may exercise it according to that law; otherwise all sales are final.
4.6 Free trials and promotional pricing
If we offer a free trial or introductory price, the trial period and conditions will be disclosed at the time of purchase. At the end of any free trial, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel before the trial ends.
4.7 Price changes
We may change subscription prices at any time, but any change to the price of a subscription you have already purchased will only take effect at the next renewal and will be disclosed to you in advance, with an option to cancel before the new price applies.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to, and not to attempt to:
- Use Peggy to violate any law, regulation, or third party's rights
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or extract the source code of any part of the Service
- Scrape, mine, or otherwise harvest data from the Service through automated means
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or circumvent any security or authentication mechanism
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to it
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Use the Service to harass, threaten, intimidate, defame, or otherwise harm another user — including your Partner or members of your Circle
- Share invite tokens or codes in a way intended to deceive or extort other users
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute any part of the Service without our express written consent
- Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair the Service
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for any violation of these Terms.
6. Third-Party Services
6.1 Plaid
Peggy uses Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") to connect to your financial institutions and retrieve your transaction data. By using Peggy and connecting an account, you also agree to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy (plaid.com/legal). Your relationship with your bank or other financial institution is governed by your agreements with those institutions, not by us.
We do not receive, store, or transmit your bank credentials. Plaid is solely responsible for collecting and authenticating those credentials. Peggy's access to your accounts is read-only — we cannot move money, initiate transfers, or change any account settings.
6.2 Apple
Sign in with Apple, the App Store, In-App Purchases, and the iOS platform are operated by Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Your use of Apple's services is governed by Apple's terms.
6.3 RevenueCat
We use RevenueCat Inc. to manage subscription state. RevenueCat receives only your user identifier and Apple subscription receipts; it does not receive your financial data.
6.4 Other third parties
Peggy may include links to or integrations with other third-party services. We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of any third party.
7. Couples — Partner Sharing
7.1 What is shared with your Partner
When you pair with another user in a Couple, you and your Partner can each see the other's individual transactions (merchant, amount, date, category), daily and monthly spending totals, category breakdowns, detected recurring subscriptions, monthly budget, and net cash flow. This is a significant disclosure and you should pair only with someone you trust.
By accepting or generating an invite to a Couple, you acknowledge and consent that your Partner will have visibility into your spending as described above and in Section 5 of the Privacy Policy.
7.2 Hide individual transactions
You may limit what your Partner sees about your spending at any time by toggling Account → Privacy → Hide my transactions. While this setting is on, your Partner sees your category and daily totals but not individual merchants or amounts. The setting takes effect immediately and can be toggled at will.
7.3 What is never shared with your Partner
The following information is never shared with your Partner, regardless of any setting:
- Bank login credentials (we never receive them)
- Bank account or routing numbers
- Account balances
- The identity of your bank
- Your email, phone, or Apple ID
- Your onboarding survey responses
7.4 Joining and leaving a Couple
Joining a Couple requires explicit acceptance of a single-use, time-limited invite code or link from the other user. You are never automatically paired. You can unlink at any time from Account → Your Partner → Unlink. Upon unlinking, your Partner immediately loses the ability to see your transactions or any data added after the unlink, and the subscription rules in Section 4.2 apply.
7.5 Responsibility for your Partner
You are solely responsible for whom you invite to a Couple and whose invites you accept. We do not vet Couple partners and provide no guarantees about another user's identity, behavior, or trustworthiness. You should pair only with a person you trust with detailed visibility into your spending.
If your Partner misuses information they receive through the Service (for example, by harassing you, attempting financial control, or using your data outside the relationship), you may unlink immediately. We will, on request, cooperate with reasonable efforts to assist victims of intimate-partner abuse — contact daryl@peggymoney.com.
8. Friends Circles (Secondary Feature)
In addition to Couples, Peggy offers a "Friends Circle" feature for lightweight comparison with friends.
8.1 What is shared
When you join a Circle, only aggregated weekly summaries of your spending — including total spent, total saved, monthly budget, and category-level totals (Housing, Food, Shopping, Transport, Entertainment, Other) — are visible to other Circle members.
Individual transactions, merchant names, account balances, and account details are never shared in a Circle, regardless of any setting. The "Hide individual transactions" toggle (Section 7.2) is not relevant to Circles because Circles never expose individual transactions in the first place.
8.2 Joining and leaving
Joining a Circle requires explicit acceptance of a single-use, time-limited invite. You can leave a Circle, mute yourself, or remove a friend from your Circle at any time within the Service.
8.3 Responsibility for your Circle
You are solely responsible for whom you invite to your Circle and whose invites you accept. We do not vet Circle members and provide no guarantees about their identity, behavior, or trustworthiness.
9. User Content
You retain ownership of any information you contribute to the Service — including your display name, avatar color, monthly budget, onboarding-survey answers, and any other identifying details you choose to set.
You grant Brooklyn Social House a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, display, and use that information solely to the extent necessary to operate and provide the Service to you, to your Partner (if any), and to other Circle members in accordance with these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
You represent that any content you submit is yours to share and does not infringe any third party's rights.
10. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Service — including the Peggy name, the penguin mascot, all software, design, copy, logos, and visual elements — are owned by Brooklyn Social House LLC or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use those materials except as expressly allowed for personal, non-commercial use of the Service.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect your information. By using Peggy, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Account Termination and Suspension
12.1 Termination by you
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account within the app. Account deletion is irreversible. We will:
- Revoke your Plaid connection
- Remove you from your Couple, if any (which immediately ends your Partner's inheritance of your subscription, if applicable)
- Remove you from any Friends Circles
- Cascade-delete your records within twenty-four (24) hours, subject to limited retention for legal-compliance and security purposes as described in our Privacy Policy
If you cancel your subscription but do not delete your account, your data remains stored as inactive until you delete it.
12.2 Termination by us
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, without notice, if:
- You violate these Terms
- We are required to do so by law
- We discontinue the Service in whole or in part
If we terminate your account for cause, you will not be entitled to a refund of any prepaid subscription fees.
13. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY TRANSACTION DATA RETRIEVED VIA PLAID WILL BE COMPLETE OR ACCURATE.
PEGGY DOES NOT PROVIDE FINANCIAL, INVESTMENT, TAX, ACCOUNTING, OR LEGAL ADVICE. ANY CATEGORIZATION, SUMMARY, RECURRING-TRANSACTION DETECTION, OR OTHER INSIGHT GENERATED BY THE SERVICE IS PRODUCED ALGORITHMICALLY AND MAY CONTAIN ERRORS. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING ANY INFORMATION BEFORE RELYING ON IT TO MAKE FINANCIAL DECISIONS.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all liability arising from inaccuracies in transaction data, missed or duplicated transactions, mis-categorized expenses, missed subscriptions, or any other algorithmic output.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
-
(a) IN NO EVENT WILL BROOKLYN SOCIAL HOUSE, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES — ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ANY USE OR MISUSE OF SHARED DATA BY YOUR PARTNER OR ANY OTHER USER, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
-
(b) OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (i) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR PEGGY IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (ii) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Brooklyn Social House LLC, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claim, demand, loss, or damage — including reasonable attorneys' fees — arising from (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any third party's rights, including your Partner or any other user.
16. DMCA / Copyright
If you believe your copyrighted work has been used in the Service in a way that constitutes infringement, please send a notice containing the elements required by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) to daryl@peggymoney.com with subject line "DMCA Notice." We will respond to valid notices in accordance with the DMCA.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes — including any change that broadens what your Partner can see, or that adjusts subscription terms — we will provide notice within the Service or by email at least seven (7) days before the changes take effect, except where immediate change is required to address a security or legal issue. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If you do not agree to the revised Terms, your sole remedy is to stop using the Service and delete your account.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, U.S.A., without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
19. Dispute Resolution; Arbitration; Class-Action Waiver
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.
19.1 Informal resolution
Before filing any claim, you agree to try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at daryl@peggymoney.com. We will attempt to resolve the dispute by good-faith negotiation within thirty (30) days of receipt.
19.2 Binding arbitration
If informal resolution fails, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The seat of arbitration is Brooklyn, New York. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
19.3 Class-action waiver
YOU AND BROOKLYN SOCIAL HOUSE EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION, CLASS ARBITRATION, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. Disputes will be brought only in an individual capacity.
19.4 Exceptions
Either party may bring an individual action in small-claims court, where eligible. Either party may also seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual-property rights pending arbitration.
19.5 Opt-out
You may opt out of the arbitration agreement in Section 19.2 by sending written notice to daryl@peggymoney.com within thirty (30) days of first accepting these Terms. The notice must include your name, your Peggy display name, and a clear statement that you are opting out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other provision of these Terms.
20. Apple-Specific Terms
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Brooklyn Social House — not Apple — and that Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the Service. To the extent of any inconsistency between these Terms and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, Apple's terms govern your right to use Peggy. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
21. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
22. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms posted within the Service, constitute the entire agreement between you and Brooklyn Social House regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
23. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any rights under them. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, or by operation of law.
24. No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that provision.
